week of Feb 18

Since yesterday was a holiday we will work Tue-Thurs this week.  Tues is our litter pick up day.  Not too much to report there.  great day to be outside.  Wed, Eric help prime and paint another building.  Since it really is a two man job I cleaned the office, picked up around HQ, did some touch up paint on the first building and pruned some bushes and trees.  The wind really picked up in the late afternoon and it was pretty hot. (85ish).  Usually I don’t get my 15,000 steps in until after we get back to the RV and we go for a walk but today I had them by 2:00pm!  Thurs was really windy.  too windy to finish painting the building. We headed to the yard to finish some chores we had begun a few weeks ago.

Friday:  we went golfing while friends Fred and Kim home shoveled snow in NW Wis!  (Kim I took the liberty of taking pics off of facebook).

Walked into to town to see a parade. The Annual Route 66 Hot Boat and Custom Car show

walked home and we could hear the car/boat engines roaring.

Saturday:  got up really early (5 am) to go for a bird walk on the refuge.  It was quite cold (upper 30’s) when we began.  We actually seen a lot of birds (50+) and got two new ones!  we could not have done it alone, those small birds still confuse us.  Our walk lasted about 5 hours.. it was wonderful…

back home to change into summer clothes to go to the

$3 per person..  pretty good deal.  this is the continuation of the parade from last night.  but now some of the boats are on the water.
