Thurs Feb 13, 2014: We decided to hang around our town this weekend.
Sunset last night:
golfed 9 holes at the local course
did a little birding
a quick stop at the casino and lunch at Juicy’s River Café. we have been here over 6 weeks but have not visited this place until today! its been on our list! Bloody Mary was perfect, Patty Melt was the best, the Tri Tip Dip was smoked beef thinly sliced with caramelized onions.. ooooh so good. this place will be a repeat before we leave.
then out biking by noon
lots of beautiful murals
of course old route 66 signs
old buildings
old cars
Needles is a railroad town.. we love our trains!
after biking up hill (the whole way) it was time for a rest.
time to walk the neighborhood, most houses have desert landscaping but some have grass..
one of the downfalls of working only 3 day a week is that we rarely finish a project. the house is just about done, looks like a few more places for the trim.
It was a bit warm this afternoon, about 85 and no wind.
full moon (or close to it) over Needles. our quite little town is not exciting or full of action but we like it well enough.
