Friday February 14, 2014. Valentines Day. we decided to go into the desert. The BLM people told us about a spring with birds.. Bonanza Springs. We left the house at about 7:45 and actually got to the springs at about 11:45! took us about an hour to get back to Needles. so what took us so long to get there? Bad directions and no map..
we did not know but we took the wrong road
it only got worse
Eric had to check out the road a few times to see if we could make it.. this one was not passable for us.. had to turn it around.
we did see some old abandon mines
lots of campfires around the area
beautiful cactus and flowers
and a few critters…
this guy is hard to see here he is
we did finally get there but did not see any birds!
maybe tomorrow!
that's really cool and kind of a coincidence, I am reading a book right now about off-roading in Death Valley National Park....pretty close to you guys
