New Mexico Part 1 Santa Rosa

Tuesday 11-12-13  we made it to New Mexico without incident.  It was a bit windy but not too bad and did not really affect our driving.

We stayed two nights at Santa Rosa Lake State Park.


of course we took a hike once we got settled into our site. seen a few birds but we think we have them already.  we are not good with the little ones.

  again we don’t have connection at our camp site so it was a good day for laundry and catching up on emails etc…
more hiking on Wednesday, we seen 4 new birds!  view from the top, can you see our home?

had to go into town for the day, we began at

natural spring for swimming and scuba diving.

these two boulders were once used as billboards on the old Route 66 (pre 1937)

finally its time for dinner.  our first New Mexico dinner at:

our dinners were fabulous.  of course we were so hungry that we forgot to take pictures.
I tried to get some tamales to go but they don’t sell them that way.  they were sooo good. Maybe in Albuquerque we can find some.
Thursday Nov 14: We drove 130 miles to Albuquerque NM.  because of the video I will have two entries for New Mexico.
