great hiking and not too far from Ponca City.
We were here last year too.. I can now say that I have never seen the sun shine in Ponca City!
Tuesday: it was a misty day, good day to do some laundry.
After laundry we went to lunch, we are back on the BBQ train..
the pork, ribs and brisket were ALL good. smoked to perfection. sauce was on the table, a bit too spicy for me but Eric was happy.
next its time to see some sites:
first stop at
it was a pretty good museum, interesting and very well presented.
next to:
on to:
we had to go to a local casino.. it was not very nice, although it was advertised as the newest in the area. But it was generous with its money!
Wednesday: time to move on.. we headed about 200 miles to:
its on a huge lake, but no TV, computer or cell phone service.. lots of hiking trails but no signs to let you know where you are at… We really like our signs or at least a very good map.
We began the day at:
no new birds but a few prairie dogs
which is also on Foss Lake. the lake is down about 13 feet so not a lot of water birds…
We headed into Elk City for lunch and museums.
The National Route 66 Museum along with a transportation, western town and farm museum were all on the same grounds. all 3 museums for $5. well worth the visit.
Our RV is slightly bigger and good thing, Eric would not fit too well in this one.
How about a ride in a Pink Cadillac?
Drive in movie time:
Eric trying the fire pole.
it was a fun day, the weather was beautiful too! 66 degs!
We are heading to Texas next. Around Amarillo area.
