I also got a T-Shirt from Flo…  wore it today to the London Bridge.

Saturday we headed back to Lake Havasu City for the BBQ, Blues and Beer fest… but to our dismay the fest had been canceled and no one told us!   so we made the best of the day.

There are 23 miniature lighthouses around Lake Havasu we found a few of them, most can be seen by boat only, but a few can be reached by car. Our first one was….  Split Rock Lighthouse in Two Harbors MN!!

some others:

Well since our BBQ fest was canceled we had to find someplace to eat..  our hearts were set on BBQ, we headed to Jaspers Smokehouse… well after about 15 minutes of walking around and asking questions we found it was closed!!  what the heck.. too hungry to drive someplace else so we went to The Red Onion.

Delicious Bloody Mary, tuna melt was wonderful and the hot Italian sub was fabulous!  this place could be a repeat.

time to walk around the London Bridge area.  we found this skate park.  boy these kids sure are brave!

I realize that the kids want to wear their winter boots but.. it is 75 degs and sunny

although a bit disappointing about the canceled fest and the closed restaurant, it turned out to be a good day.

until we got home… the Dish was not working..  called them for help, they want to send out a technician for $95..  told them I would rather switch to Direct TV..  sending a tech out tomorrow on their dime.  its always something….  computer, furnace now Dish what is next?

Sunday: we walked down to Denny’s for Breakfast, its about a mile and half round trip. then walked around the compound for another hour waiting for the Dish Tech to show up.  He came, changed out the satellite dish, wires and receiver!  all is good here!  Lets hope it all stays working for the next few months.  Today was going to be our hang around the RV day, do a few chores and get some reading done.  We did manage to get it all done.  we thought of golfing but… that did not happen.

This week we work Mon-Wed.  On Thursday we head to Phoenix for the weekend. Plan on seeing my uncle and family and Eric’s friend Rick from MN.

then off to the pool for some rest..  a little time at the fitness center before heading down to dinner at the Italian restaurant for a wonderful meal.
All in All a great 3 day weekend.
Monday: well time to get back to reality..  but before we do..  a round of golf then some chores.  time to take this very slow virused computer into the shop… was able to pick it up Friday afternoon.
Tuesday is trash pick up day but first we have to attend a safety meeting…  love meetings..  pretty uneventful trash day, but we did put a crock pot of beef stroganoff..  and it was very very good.
Wednesday was working in the maintenance yard, well we were all on clean up duty.  put stuff away, swept etc… looks a lot better
Thursday is our day off as we will work on Friday so off to Quartzsite Az we go.
a quick  stop at Parker Dam. the highest dam in the USA at 320 feet.
DSCN3812DSCN3814
as we were driving my cell phone rang…  a call from Wisconsin…  a call from our security guy!  the furnace is not working…  what the heck.  he got the furnace guy out there within the hour and got it fixed, no problem…
off to Quartzsite:

this town has a lot of RV campgrounds and BLM land where people park their RV’s.  it is a hopping town during Jan-Mar then back to a population of about 800.  Lots of stuff for sale and lots of gems and rocks.  it began as a gem and rock show but has morphed into a couple month long flea market and party.

we did not stay too long as it was a one way 100 mile trip. but before we left we made a brief stop at the

next stop in Lake Havasu city for a bite to eat and get the growler filled. and a great view of the London Bridge.
DSCN3827DSCN3828DSCN3829DSCN3830DSCN3831
we don’t usually drive after dark but we did.. no problems, no burros on the roads.
Friday is another work day.. they have archery day for a local school so we acted as escorts. I had the 8th grade (7 kids) and Eric had 7 grade (4 kids).

the little ones came later, we took them on a nature hike.
DSCN3837
it was a fun day, but it is not our style.  we would prefer to pick up trash..  just saying.  this was our first non sunny day!
glad to get our computer back.  especially since we do not get “local” TV so no local weather.

I had won a 6 pack of little Bud Lights, we stopped at the in house movie theater to get popcorn

and since we got a large we got a free refill on the popcorn!

time to go down for the concert, John Anderson (country singer).

You might say who?? but when his hits were played you started singing along.

He nailed his hits  (Seminole wind, Swing’n, Blacksheep, Straight tequila night, etc) and played others that were enjoyed by all.

after the concert they drew tickets to give away 2 autographed guitars… needless to say we did not win..

a very long day but a very good day here on the Colorado River.
