well we are actually in Cathedral City at the Outdoor Resort and Country Club. The park is beautiful with a 9 hole and 18 hole golf course. There is over 1200 sites and each one is landscaped differently. Each little section has a pool, tennis courts, showers and laundry. There are two club houses with a wonderful fitness room.
Roberta and John G. came to the Palm Springs area for the week too.
the tennis court is right behind us.
Just about everyone has a golf cart. we have even seen someone walking his dog, he was driving the cart and the dog was running!
we met for lunch at Sherman’s started out with great matzo ball soup
Wednesday night we met at
huge smoker
the ribs and chicken were wonderful, the lighting was poor and the menu was very hard to read but recommend this place for a good beer and food.
Thurs: Eric checked out the fitness center while I did laundry! hmmm… what is wrong with this picture? there are a lot of citrus trees on the resort, free for the picking…
Grapefruit, lemon and oranges. have not found tangerines yet..
We (along with Roberta and John) took a tour of the stars homes and the wind farm.. no pictures of the homes as they were all behind brick fences or high shrubs
Our guide was very good and very knowledgeable and very funny.
Lunch/dinner was at Lulu’s:
ham Panini and grilled sole.. oh so good.
Spent the evening at the Village Festival, which is held each Thursday night in Downtown Palm Springs. they close about 8 blocks to traffic, the vendors set up arts, crafts, food etc.. prices pretty good and the food looked and smelled wonderful.. but as we had just eaten we will have to wait until next Thurs to taste the street fare. we did get some very fresh, very tasty dates…
Friday: we met John and Roberta at Cheesecake Factory for a wonderful lunch before going to the Coachello Valley Preserve for a beautiful walk along the San Andreas fault!
the visitor center was built in 1930’s from the palm tree trunks.
we kind of felt like we were on Gilligan’s Island!
it was so peaceful and beautiful. we will be back here!
Headed to a local casino where they had a Pow Wow celebration. the Pow Wow was not in full swing but we donated a little money to the cause. Finally to the Yard House for a bite to eat and to watch Northern Illinois lose to Bowling Green! Another wonderful day to be grateful. Roberta and I had the most wonderful Mac N Cheese, mine with bacon her’s with chicken.
Saturday:
so many to choose from….
they made thousands: traditional, gourmet and sweet..
Next to:
it is a Date garden and store. the most delicious date shake ever!
the clouds came in but we only got a few sprinkles.
finally to the Festival of Lights in Downtown Palm Springs . could not get very good pictures of the moving vehicles.. Suzanne Summers was the Grand Marshall.
another wonderful day with great friends, great food and great fun.
